The Paradox of the Hunter and Nurturer Character

hunter

There are two types of people: hunters and nurturers.

Hunters tend to be driven by physiological resources — e.g. money, shelter, food. Nurturers tend to be driven by human resources — e.g. relationships, emotions.

Depending on which hunter and nurturer character we identify with, it seems like we develop biases for people who share similar values to ourselves, in terms of which resource we prioritize: money or relationships.

To a hunter, a nurturer may seem inactive, overly passive, slow. To a nurturer, a hunter may seem greedy, overactive, and impatient.

But what we fail to realize is that we are all similar. We strive to provide for ourselves and others. Hunters will not only feed themself, but will feed others as a result of their hunt. Nurturers will not only nurture others, but will nourish their own souls as a result of their nurturing.

We just have different ways of contributing while feeling a sense of purpose.
